| The methods of struggle against the virus W32.Welchia.Worm. |
Here is step-by-step instruction for removal of the virus Welchia from your computer
and for suppression of further possible infection.
Worm is dangerous for operational systems Windows NT, Windows 2000 и Windows XP.
The following programs will be necessary for removal of the virus:
Repair Tool from Symantec Anti-Virus
Patch from Microsoft
You may download both of the files from our web site www.web.am
- Download the Patch. For this purpose please define what operational system you use.
If you are not sure which version you use, click on Start at the bottom of the left
corner of your screen, choose Control Panel. In the window Control Panel choose System.
The operational system is specified in section General. If you use system Windows XP,
also pay attention whether you use the version 32-bit Edition or 64-bit Edition.
- Download Repair Tool clicking on the link FixWelch.exe.
- Choose from the following files what corresponds to your operational system.
Windows NT: Q823980i.exe
Windows 2000: Windows2000-KB823980-x86-ENU.exe
Windows XP: WindowsXP-KB823980-x86-ENU.exe
You may also find these files on out site in the section Download.
- Disconnect you computer from the network.
- Start Repair Tool. (Double click of the mouse on FixWelch.exe).
You can as well start this program from Safe Mode.
- Start Patch from Microsoft. (Double click of the mouse on the downloaded file).
If your operational system does not support the given Patch you need to update your operational
system (to establish the last Service Pack for your system) and perform the last step again.
In the case if your access to the Internet was forbidden by WEB Ltd. because of the infection
by a virus, please call by the following number 56-54-32 with request to open the modem access.
